App is provided by Devy (“we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, and shared when you use our app.

Information We Collect and How We Use It

Learning information and app preferences

The app stores information you enter or create, including learning preferences, survey answers, study goals, study progress, timer history, quizzes, flashcards, and AI Tutor chat history.

This information supports the app’s learning features, saves your progress, and personalizes your experience. Some information is stored locally on your device. Information included in an AI request is also processed as described below.

Content submitted to AI features

When you use AI features, relevant content is sent to OpenAI, our third-party AI service provider.

Depending on the feature, this content may include:

Questions, messages, topics, and instructions you enter.
Images you select or capture and submit for analysis.
Text from learning materials you provide for AI processing.
Learning survey answers, such as subjects, knowledge level, goals, study duration, and available study time.
Language and region settings used to tailor generated content.

If this content contains personal information, that information will also be shared with OpenAI.

We use the OpenAI API to answer questions, analyze images, and generate study plans, quizzes, and flashcards.

Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information or information about other people without their permission.

Voice input, camera, and photos

Voice input uses Apple’s speech recognition framework to convert speech into text. Depending on device support and system behavior, speech recognition may involve processing by Apple.

The current voice input feature does not send audio recordings to OpenAI. Recognized text is sent to OpenAI when you submit it as an AI request.

Camera, microphone, speech recognition, and photo access are requested through iOS permissions where required. Permission to access these features is separate from permission to share content with OpenAI.

Usage and technical information

We use Mixpanel to understand how the app is used and improve its features and reliability.

Analytics information may include an app-generated identifier, session identifiers, device model, operating system, app version, language, screen visits, feature interactions, learning activity, purchase events, advertisement interactions, and technical error codes.

Our analytics implementation is designed to exclude the text of your AI messages and the contents of your images and documents.

Advertising and app services

The app uses Google AdMob to display and measure advertisements. Its SDK may process device identifiers, IP addresses, device and app information, advertising interactions, and diagnostic data.

The app also uses Firebase services for app configuration and notification functionality. Depending on the enabled service, these may process installation identifiers, notification tokens, and technical information.

Purchases and support

Apple processes in-app purchases. The app uses purchase status and product information to provide purchased features. We do not receive your full payment card details.

If you contact us, we receive your email address and any information you include. We use that information to respond and provide support.

Before sending personal content to OpenAI, the app explains what information will be shared, identifies OpenAI as the recipient, and asks for your explicit permission.

For AI Tutor, your choice is saved for future requests. You can withdraw permission at any time using the OpenAI data sharing switch in Profile.

If you decline or withdraw permission, AI Tutor will not send new requests unless you explicitly agree again. Features that do not require AI remain available.

We will request permission again if the provider, data categories, or purposes change beyond the scope of your previous agreement.

Withdrawing permission does not recall information already sent or automatically delete previously stored information.

Third-Party Service Providers

We share information with service providers to operate the features described in this policy:

OpenAI: AI processing.
Mixpanel: usage analytics.
Google AdMob: advertising and advertising measurement.
Firebase: app configuration and notification services.
Apple: speech recognition and in-app purchases.

We require service providers receiving personal information to provide the same or an equivalent level of protection as described in this policy and required by applicable privacy requirements.

Data Retention and Deletion

Local learning records and chat history remain on your device until you delete them using available app controls or remove the app’s local data. Device backups may retain additional copies according to your Apple backup settings.

You can delete AI Tutor conversations from the chat history.

Deleting a local conversation does not automatically delete information previously processed by a third-party provider.

OpenAI may retain API content and related information under its API data retention policies. By default, abuse monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days, with exceptions described in OpenAI’s documentation.

Analytics, advertising, and service data are retained according to the purposes described here, applicable provider settings, provider retention policies, and legal requirements.

You may contact thanhns.dev@icloud.com to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information under our control. Where a provider processes information on our behalf, we will assist with applicable requests through that provider.

Your Choices

You can:

Decline AI data sharing or withdraw AI Tutor permission in Profile.
Manage camera, microphone, speech recognition, photo, and notification permissions in iOS Settings.
Manage app tracking permission in iOS Settings where applicable.
Delete AI Tutor conversations using the chat history controls.
Contact us about your personal information.

Security and International Processing

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. AI requests are transmitted over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to applicable safeguards and their service terms.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app or its services change. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date.

Material changes to AI data sharing will be explained in the app, and renewed permission will be requested where necessary.
